Solar panels need daylight and not direct sunlight to work, and we receive enough daylight even in winter to produce a significant proportion of a home's energy needs.
Pv works by allowing the sun's energy in the form of photons, to pass through silicon cells, a process which produces a d.c. voltage and current. This is then converted into the form of electricity we use in the home (a.c.) by an inverter, after which it can be fed directly into the consumer unit or fuse board of a home. A total generation meter records energy, and we can also provide a range of monitoring solutions for customers to view output locally via Bluetooth or remotely on the internet.
The energy produced offsets the electricity being bought from the grid, and during the day, when consumption is often lowest, the house will be exporting electricity onto the grid. In the evening, electricity is imported in the normal way. The panels, which have no moving parts making them practically maintenance free, carry a 25 year output warranty. At Solar Peak we work with several panel manufacturers and so supply and fit a wide range of solar panels, allowing us to design a system to suit every property and budget. Once we have surveyed your property you will receive a written quotation along with a full technical report which includes a very accurate figure of how much energy your system will produce allowing you to make and informed financial decision.
Our in-house team has carried out many installations and attention to detail and our technical knowledge allows us to install systems to a very high standard, from small residential arrays up to large complex installations. Our customers always stay in touch with us and we are always happy to provide references so that you are confident in the choice you are making.
